Facebook… We all love it, Right? I mean sure, there is times often when you feel the urge to post “Arghh, Facebook is freaking out again, fix it zuckerberg!” but let’s face it, with a population of over 700 million, they are doing a pretty good job of running their community (Which is more than can be said for the people running our country, and they only have 62 million) – No more politics, promise!
Some of you may be aware that Facebook is going to be getting a radical makeover in the coming months in terms of users profiles. Here is what the new “timeline” looks like.

Preview of the new facebook profile
Pretty big difference from the current profile as I’m sure you can tell.
So let’s break it down and see what new features they have in store for us.
Personalise your Facebook:

Personalise your Facebook
You can now add a touch of personality to your Facebook by adding a “cover”.
A cover can be any image you choose and of course different from your profile picture as you can see on my example above. When viewing on a mobile device, the cover can also be collapsed or expanded to save some space.
Everything is grouped together:

Facebook grouped together
As you can see here… My friends, photos, places I have checked in and all the pages I like have now been grouped in to one little bundle of thumbnails. This lives just under your profile picture and right next to your information. You can see from the arrow at the right that there are other categories it groups together such as subscriptions and notes.
New Facebook Timeline:

New Facebook Timeline
This is really brilliant. Facebook has cleverly categorised all of the information ever collected by the user (this includes stuff that happened before you even had Facebook) and then puts in to this interactive timeline at the side of said users profile.
When someone clicks on one of these dates it will jump down the page and display all the activity and news from that period that was said by or about that user as well as friends made, places visited etc.
So, that’s it in a quick glance, the new Facebook profile that is coming to everyone’s screen in the coming months. As you can see, I already have the new Facebook and you can also by registering as a Developer and creating an app (any app for any purpose) and Facebook will then invite you try out their new profile.
